ISO 9001

The EICC has been certified since 2002.  ISO 9001 is a standard which is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

ISO 14001

The EICC has been certified since 2002. ISO 14001 is a standard which sets out the criteria and framework that a company can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

Green Meetings Standard. Gold. 2023

After the latest assessment, in September 2023, the EICC retained its Green Meetings Gold Award with Green Tourism.

BEAM

The EICC is a member of BEAM - business events accommodation and meetings - a membership organisation which represents and promotes best practice, ethics and high standards across our industry. 

Hospitality Assured 2022

Our latest assessment and re-accreditation with Hospitality Assured was in 2022. This followed an award in Excellence in Leadership at the Hospitality Assured awards in June 2019.

The E Awards 2019

We were delighted to add to another award win from the E Awards in June 2019, this time for Best Scottish Venue & Events Team. 

Scottish Thistle Awards 2018 / 2019

The Best Business Event was jointly awarded to the European Orthodontic Society (EOS) and the EICC for the EOS Congress in June 2018.  

National Venue Award 2018

In May 2018 we were presented with the Gold Award for Best Event Venue over 1,000 Attendees, and we were recognised with a Silver Award in the Most Versatile Venue category.

The E Awards 2018

We were thrilled to win the Sustainable Event Excellence Award in March 2018 for our collaborative work with the 2017 Edinburgh Anaesthesia Festival. 

SEAL Business Sustainability Award

In November 2017 the EICC became one of 11 world-wide organisations to receive one of SEAL's (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) inaugural awards for our leadership in and commitment to sustainable practices.

Resource Efficiency Pledge

This nationwide scheme is backed by the Scottish Government to help Scottish businesses use energy, water and raw materials more efficiently. The EICC secured Silver and Gold recognition following an assessment and became Scotland’s first organisation from the Conference and Meetings sector to be recognised by the Pledge.

Keep Safe Scotland

Together with a number of Local Authority buildings, shops, businesses and venues, the EICC is committed to being a Keep Safe premise for disabled and vulnerable people.  Find out more about the Keep Safe initiative.

Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) Gold Award

We are proud to have achieved Gold status via the GTBS for implementing significant sustainable initiatives throughout our business.

European Association Awards 2017 - Highly Commended

We are proud to be recognised at this inaugural ceremony, based on our flexibility and our work in improving the EICC's accessibility measures.

Autism Friendly Award

The EICC was honoured with an Autism Friendly Award in recognition of the accessibility measures which we put in place in our venue ahead of the Europe International Autism Congress in September 2016. 

VIBES Awards 2016

The Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards recognise businesses in Scotland which take significant steps to improve or reduce their impact on the environment.

Conference Awards 2016

The EICC was delighted to win 'Best Conference Venue - Over 900 Delegates' at this annual industry awards ceremony.

Investors in People - Gold 2015

The EICC has achieved Investors in People Gold in recognition of its people management practices. The award cites EICC's culture of developing effective people and a company-wide commitment to staging sustainable events.

Scottish Event Awards 2015

The EICC team were delighted to be awarded the title of Best Large Venue in recognition of the Centre's versatile and impressive event spaces.

Quality Scotland

In June 2015 Quality Scotland awarded the EICC with the Sustainability in Excellence Award which recognises an organisation who has truly embraced the area of sustainability and embedded their sustainability agenda within their organisation with recognised results.

2014 Sustainable Development Award

The award recognises EICC's achievement in developing a measurement tool that promotes continuous improvement in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

BREEAM - Very Good

The EICC's expanded facility received a final certification of 'Very Good' against the BREEAM 2008: Bespoke standard. The code addresses sustainably built environments.
